CONNECTORS: HUBSPOT
Integrating HubSpot with Mapline might sound like a big leap, but it’s smoother than a walk in the park. Once you’ve got it set up, you’ll transform your HubSpot data into actionable insights that are as clear as a sunny day.
Easily turn rows of contacts, deals, and tickets into a visual map that helps you make smarter decisions. Whether it’s managing sales territories, tracking customer engagement, or planning your next big campaign, this connector is your ultimate power-up. Ready to get started? Let’s walk through the process step-by-step—no superpowers required.
LOG IN TO HUBSPOT
Let’s start simple. Log in to your HubSpot account and ensure you have Super Admin permissions. This isn’t just any login—you need to have the ultimate clearance to build the tools we’re about to set up.
Once you’re logged in, click on your profile icon in the top-right corner, then head to Profile and Preferences. Then, in the lefthand SETTINGS sidebar, select USERS & TEAMS. From here, you can see user permissions. If you do not have access to these settings, contact your company’s Hubspot admin.
Pro Tip: To check your administrative priveleges, click your name in the top-right corner of Hubspot and select PROFILE & PREFERENCES. Then, in the lefthand SETTINGS sidebar, select USERS & TEAMS. From here, you can see user permissions. If you do not have access to these settings, contact your company’s Hubspot admin.
CREATE A PRIVATE APP
Now comes the fun part—building your connector! Think of this as stepping into your control room—everything you need to set up your Hubspot integration starts here. From the lefthand SETTINGS sidebar, click INTEGRATIONS, select PRIVATE APPS, then click the orange CREATE A PRIVATE APP button in the top-right corner of your screen.
Name your app, add a logo and description, then click the SCOPES tab and select ADD SCOPES. Scopes give you precise control over what your HubSpot data can do in Mapline, ensuring a secure and efficient integration without exposing unnecessary data. It’s like giving a house key for one specific room instead of the entire house. For the best functionality, you’ll want to include scopes such as:
- Contacts: crm.objects.contacts.read – Access contact details like addresses, emails, and phone numbers.
- Companies: crm.objects.companies.read – Retrieve company data, including locations and industries.
- Deals: crm.objects.deals.read – View deal stages, values, and associated data.
- Leads: crm.objects.leads.read – Track lead records for segmentation and territory assignments.
- Engagements: sales-email-read, crm.objects.contacts.read – Analyze calls, emails, meetings, and notes.
- Products: e-commerce – Access product data for revenue mapping and sales insights.
- Line Items: crm.objects.line_items.read – Visualize deal details and associated revenue.
- Tickets: tickets.read – Map customer support tickets and analyze trends.
After selecting your scopes, hit UPDATE and then click CREATE APP. That’s it—you’ve just built the foundation for an epic connection between HubSpot and Mapline!
Pro Tip: If your location data is stored in custom fields, include crm.objects.custom.read to ensure Mapline can access it.
The required scopes depend on your needs. Read permissions are usually enough for visualization and reporting, but if you’re updating HubSpot data from Mapline— like field data or record changes— you’ll also need write permissions.
COPY ACCESS TOKEN
Check it out! You just made an app, no development experience needed.
Now, every superhero gadget needs its activation code, and your app is no different. You should get a pop-up window confirming that your new Mapline integration has been created. Click the AUTH tab, and under ACCESS TOKEN, click SHOW TOKEN.
There it is—your golden key! Copy the token carefully and keep it secure. Remember, this is sensitive information, so don’t share it with anyone. Treat it like the launch code for your super secret lair.
LINK TO MAPLINE
With your access token ready, it’s time to connect HubSpot to Mapline. Log in to Mapline, click your name in the top-right corner, and select CONNECTORS.
Click the blue + plus sign, name your connection, and select HUBSPOT from the APP drop-down menu. Then, paste your access token and you’re good to go!
